Due to the coronavirus epidemic spreading across the country and North Korea's inability to control the virus (despite their reports otherwise), the country was forced to release 7,000 labor camp prisoners, according to Chosun Media. A North Korean human rights advocate of the International Parliamentarians' Coalition has urged South Korea to be proactive about protecting North Korea defectors so that they feel safe enough to report honestly about the conditions of North Korea. ...he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise. Psalm 102:20-21
But during the night an angel of the LORD opened the gates of the prison... Acts 5:19a
We praise You, Father, that You have used the coronavirus to set 7,000 prisoners free from the inhumane labor camps of North Korea. Just as you rescued the apostles from prison by supernatural means so Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We pray that you would connect these 7,000 released prisoners with the church in North Korea, that they would come to know You, and declare Your praise for the wondrous work You have done! Watch over them and bring them into Your fold, we pray. Your grace is sufficient. Amen.
