“I got in touch with someone in the North yesterday and was informed that you can only buy six kilograms of rice with 100 Chinese yuan. Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, you could buy 30 kilograms of rice for the same amount of money. The prices of other items have also spiked significantly. Soybean oil costs 40,000 Korean won per liter and seasonings cost 50,000 won per kilogram. When I heard this story, I thought, 'North Korea is about to collapse. It won’t be long from now.'” This is the recent situation in North Korea, as told by a North Korean defector. We pray that the kingdom of God will come and God’s will be done in North Korea.
“Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you. Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy.” Psalm 86:1,4,6
Lord, we lift up to you the North Korean people who are suffering from the murderous inflation. God who saves the lives of the needy, please listen to their groans of despair. Please visit the people who are suffering from oppression and violence, and wipe away their tears May they see your kingdom come to North Korea and pray for your will to be done.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!
