Results of Missile and Nuclear Tests: Not Safety, but Famine

North Korea announced on the 11th and 12th that they have “successfully test-fired a new long-range cruise missile.” They also stated that “this holds a strategically significant meaning of gaining another effective deterrent to ensure the safety of our country and to strongly suppress the military aggression of hostile forces against the DPRK.” Meanwhile, Human Rights Watch, a human rights group, pointed out that “every missile test in North Korea takes away food that goes into the mouths of the North Korean people.” We pray that North Koreans will soon be freed from oppression and come to know and worship God.

“Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord. I will protect them from those who malign them.” Psalm 12:5

Lord, we lift to you the situation in which North Korea has launched a new missile. Please rebuke North Korea for its ignorance of prioritizing missile and nuclear tests over the people of North Korea, who are dying of hunger and disease. Have mercy on the oppressed and grieving North Koreans. We pray that you rescue them and give them a safe environment to freely worship and praise you, Lord.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
