The loyalty of the North Korean Communist Party and people to the Party and the Supreme Leader is so religious that it has been ranked among the top 10 religions in the world. The 10 Principles of the Party's Unified Thought System, which idolizes the Supreme Leader, have become laws and rules, like the Ten Commandments in Christianity, that control the hearts and minds of North Koreans. For North Koreans, the Supreme Leader is a god, an object of loyalty to be upheld regardless of age, experience or ability. This is why the bodies of Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il still dominate living North Koreans, and why the country spends billions of won every year preserving the bodies of the dead while leaving the living to die.
14 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! 21 And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the LORD!” (Joshua 24:14,21)
Our Heavenly Father, Our Lord!
Have pity on the ignorance and sinfulness of the people of North Korea who are captive to the dictatorship. We repent on their behalf in the name of Jesus Christ. Help them to realise the ignorance and sinfulness of the ruling monolithic system that has captured the hearts and minds of the people of North Korea as if it were dead but would never die. Let Your word of truth reach the land of North Korea. Like Israel's decision and confession recorded in the book of Joshua, let the people of North Korea make that confession and let the ruling dictatorship disappear.
