[Prayer] A Prayer for North Korea's Restoration

North Korea has already become one large refugee camp. In such a situation, any internal disruption or external provocation could trigger a massive refugee crisis. Moreover, when the time comes for North Korea to be restored, its citizens will likely flee in large numbers, becoming refugees themselves.
The Korean Church must be prepared both spiritually and practically to welcome these refugees in times of crisis and to faithfully pray for the restoration of North Korea. Especially, believers in South Korea should anticipate this restoration by preparing essential supplies in every household—items such as daily necessities and clothing for a typical four-member North Korean family. Doing so, with prayer, reflects a heart that truly believes in and obeys God's coming work in restoring North Korea.
And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing?
And the king will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.'
—Matthew 25:38, 40
Lord, you have spoken these words to us, yet we confess that even in the face of suffering and hunger in North Korea, the Korean Church and its people have not embraced them with the love of Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, we repent.
Help us, Lord, to begin preparing today—both in prayer and in action—for the day when refugees, hungry and in need, come to us as strangers. May we be ready with the supplies they need, and may our churches and homes be equipped both spiritually and physically to welcome them, serve them, and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
