At the 44th UN Human Rights Council regular meeting held last week, the resolution to urge governments to prevent human trafficking was adopted. The report submitted to the council addressed the issue of human trafficking in North Korea. The report pointed out that North Korean refugees illegally residing in China were likely to be targeted by human traffickers, subject to kidnap and forced marriage if they are women. It was also reported that there was North Korea-China network of brokers facilitating illegal entry of North Korean women into China, which makes the women exposed to sexual abuse and forced prostitution. We pray for North Korean refugees who have been suffering from human trafficking and sexual exploitation that they know god as their savior and healer.
“26 The Lord had seen how bitterly everyone in Israel, whether slave or free, was suffering;[a] there was no one to help them. 27 And since the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash. ( 2 Kings 14: 26-27)”
Lord, we pray for North Korean women living in the misery of human trafficking and forced prostitution. We ask you that you may visit the victims suffering from indelible wounds, showing them your abounding love and mercy so that you become their healer and savior. Let them realize that there is the name of Jesus, which they can rely on under any circumstance, and help them when they return to you to be your precious children.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
