The Swiss non-profit human rights group, UN Watch, has listed North Korea as one of the countries without freedom. UN Watch noted that there is no freedom of speech, association, and religion, a “lack of democratic elections, and severe restrictions on worker rights” in North Korea. In addition, political prison camps are operated and people are subjected to “unfair trials, human trafficking, torture, and extrajudicial killings”. We pray that God will be the stronghold for the North Koreans who are suffering from oppression and tribulation.
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10
Lord, please be a stronghold for the North Koreans who have been through times of oppression and tribulation. Have pity on those who have been deprived of their basic freedoms and rights, and whose eyes and ears are blocked from knowing you. Help the people to see your glory and understand what you are doing. May they live a blessed life relying on You.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
