North Korea Continues Developing Nuclear Despite Severe Economic Condition

The UN Security Council Sanctions Committee on North Korea stated that North Korea is continually developing nuclear and missile programs despite aggravating economic hardship due to COVID-19. The sanctions committee explained through an expert panel report that North Korea has completed the external construction of the Yongbyon nuclear facility and showed signs of restarting the reactor. Meanwhile, the economic situation in North Korea worsened due to COVID-19, and imports of coal and refined oil significantly decreased as trades became difficult after the border closure. We pray that North Korea will realize amidst the current situation that this is the time to come before God to receive His salvation and grace.

“As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

Lord, we pray that your grace and salvation will come to North Korea. After closing the border last year, the North Korean economy has entered a phase of paralysis and the people have no other way, but to rely on themselves to survive. However, North Korea is still developing its nuclear weapons even though the people's livelihoods are on the brink. Lord, we pray that the people in North Korea will realize that now is the time to come before you. We pray that you show them your mercy and compassion, and may they receive your grace and salvation.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
