Before the liberation of Korea, there were more than 3,188 churches in the North. However, in 1945, when communism was established following the liberation, all the churches disappeared due to persecution. However, God, who did not give up on North Korea, allowed the gospel to be shared through missionaries and allowed the churches to be established through those who believed in Jesus. As of September 2021, 1,830 churches have been planted through Cornerstone Ministries International.
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes.” Isaiah 52:7-8
We declare in the name of Jehovah God Almighty, who is raising up underground churches in North Korea even in the midst of impossible circumstances. May the underground churches be more vigorously planted in North Korea.
