Children are forced to work beginning in elementary school
In North Korea, children are forced to work in the afternoon after their morning classes. Moreover, during the rice planting and autumn harvest seasons, classes are suspended for a month so that children can be mobilized for forced labor, including construction jobs and agricultural work. Most of them must labor without adequate safety equipment. Many parents bribe teachers to avoid sending their children to work.
Pray that North Korean children will be provided safe, caring environments in which to learn and experience healthy development.
