“There is nothing the state guarantees. It would be nice if those who work at construction sites are provided with some food, or at least some clothes and shoes, but nothing is provided. Individuals are responsible for their own needs. It’s ridiculous.” An official of North Korean relations criticized North Korea for doing nothing for the people and only demanding forced labor and strenuous work. The international community has also raised concerns that many North Koreans, from children to adults, are subjected to forced labor, and that all North Koreans, except for high-ranking Labor Party officials, are in fact “modern slaves.” We pray that the hearts of North Koreans will not be hardened by long-term forced labor and that they will be able to worship God.
“Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.” Exodus 6:9-11
Lord, we pray for North Koreans who are subjected to forced labor like slaves. Please stop the evil behavior of the North Korean authorities that run the national economy by exploiting the labor of all residents, from children to the elderly. We pray that the hearts of North Koreans will not reject the word of God due to harsh labor, but be filled with the Holy Spirit and have a heart that worship God.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
