A Letter from a North Korean Believer

“It comes with unwavering faith that God loves and cares for me, who is but a speck of dust. At first, I was told that I had to believe and follow, so I tried to accept it intellectually with my head. However, after knowing the love of God who gave His only Son for a sinner like me, and the love of Jesus, who walked through the thorny path of blood in obedience to the Father God, I was moved. Nevertheless, at that point, I was not following the righteousness of God, but my righteousness. From some point onward, I gradually developed a belief that came naturally and kept me from turning away. I’m very grateful to God.” This is part of the lengthy testimony sent by a North Korean Christian. Despite the fact that it is difficult to travel to and from North Korea due to the pandemic, God is allowing the gospel to be witnessed today and is helping the North Korean believers to mature in faith. We pray that the Word of God will be filled in North Korea even in this cold season.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Lord, we praise you for hearing the prayers of North Korean believers who profess their faith through the Word. We are grateful for your amazing grace of allowing the gospel to be spread and growing the faith of the believers through the Word even during the pandemic. Lord, we pray that you comfort and protect your people and that the tightly closed door of North Korea will be open wide so that the Word and the necessities can be delivered without shortage to the North Korean believers.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
