[Prayer] It is getting more difficult to escape!
Recently, North Korean defectors have been trying to escape from the border area, but the number of people arrested without success has been increasing compared to last year. Last January, about 30 to 40 people were arrested, but this year, on January 1st alone, 20 people were arrested for attempting to escape. A source from Yangkang Province said, "If the people who are transported back from China are combined, the interrogation room and the cell are not enough. As the ways of escaping from North Korea, such as North Korea's defection, have become more diverse, the arresting methods of the authorities are becoming more sophisticated. " North Korea's authorities are focusing on pre-interception, and are instructed to raise arrest records for defectors.
Much prayer is needed to stop the unethical North Korea crack down on North Korean escapees and
evil way of punishing the refugees who crossed over to China. Please pray that the North Koreans in their process of defection will enjoy the blessing to stay in China instead of being transported back to receive an opportunity to hear the Gospel and eventually settle in South Korea to prepare for the reunification of the Koreas.
I lift up in prayer for the NK situation for the difficulty of North Korean’s escaping as the authorities’ monitoring intensifies by claiming your promise of protection in Exodus 23:20, “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”
Please protect North Korean refugees escaping from surveillance and stop the North Korean authorities from their evil activities of harassing innocent people. May the North Korean escapees continue to shake up the North Korean regime’s fortress and advance the time of Gospel reunification. Set a hedge of protection upon the North Korean people in the process of escaping from North Korea, open doors to meet the people of God, to hear the Gospel, and to enjoy the blessing of receiving Jesus. Eventually, may the refugees settle in South Korea and be established as laborers who prepare for the unification of the Koreas. I give thanks, praise, and glory to the Almighty God who will grant favor upon the believers of the North and the South to freely worship and praise God. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen!
