[Prayer] North Korea fails to resolve chronic food shortages
According to a GIEWS report released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on December 7th, the fourth quarter report on crop prospects and food situation, North Korea has been reassigned to “37 countries require external assistance for food”. FAO said, "Due to reduced agricultural output and economic downturn, most households are anticipated to continue to experience borderline or poor food consumption rates." The total food shortage in North Korea was estimated at 459,000 tons.
Pyongyang, which propagated its nuclear program and promoted its nuclear power, is experiencing a chronic food crisis internally. It is necessary to pray for the North Korean authorities to use the national budget to care for people's lives, not nuclear development.
We claim your promise in Isaiah 40:11, “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” And we pray that you will have mercy upon the North Korean people suffering from the chronic food shortage. May you change the heart of North Korean authorities so that the budget that North Korea pays for its nuclear development will go to the people so that the people of North Korea will not starve. May the agricultural infrastructure and natural disaster prevention systems will be in place so that North Korean food can be supplied in a stable manner. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen!
