[Prayer] Wandering Children are increasing in North Korea
The following is a news from a worker who just came back from the field:
"There have been too many wandering children in North Korea these days. It is because the school financial situation deteriorated as schools are now being operated by the money collected from the parents and the parents who are not able to make a living cannot send their children to school.”
Recently, as the trade with China has become difficult and the distribution of goods has been stopped, it is one of the phenomenon that is caused by the disruption in the livelihood of residents engaged in trade and commerce. As North Korea maintains its position as a nuclear power holder, the ongoing sanctions against North Korea are making the lives of the people, not the authorities, even more deprived. We must pray that the North Korean authorities’ iniquity of continual development of nuclear weapons be stopped immediately as the North Korea continues to neglect the livelihoods of their people at the cost of maintaining the nuclear armament.
We claim God’s promise as we pray in Psalm 103:6-7, “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:” We lift up to you the North Korean residents who are not able to make their living. Pray that North Korea will abandon its ambition to become a nuclear power and to pursue its policies for the people of North Korea. Let North Korea and China resume their trade soon and find ways for North Koreans who have lost their means of living to live. Have mercy upon the wandering children who are begging on the streets so that NK children will get back to school receive their education and grow as healthy children. In addition, may humanitarian aid from the international community continue for the North Korean residents and Christians be provisioned sufficiently.
In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen!
