Few years ago, God told us to prepare for the opening of North Korea. Hence, we have adopted “unification” as a mission strategy for reaching out to North Korea since the peaceful unification will give the free excess to the whole nation of North Korea. We can worship anywhere in North Korea without fear of Communist. Underground believers will come out of dark and secret places to praise and shout to the Lord freely.
They may sing at last,
Faith of our fathers, living still,
In spite of dungeon, fire, and sword;
Oh, how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene’er we hear that glorious Word!
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.
Some old timers will remember this song.
Then, underground believers may recite first two verses of Psalm 126,
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing:
There will be joyful laughter coming out of their mouth.
Although they do not know how to dance, but the body will reflect the joy and singing
“How Great Thou Art” What a joy they will feel and express.
Yes, it seems like a dream, but God has laid on my heart for the coming of this greatest and joyful opening of North Korea. And that day is very near. And I believe it is all about God and it will not be human endeavor, political and military power, but God’s mercy is the only way to bring peaceful unification. And God Himself will be honored in restoring freedom in North Korea. We were called to prepare for this day. When we were called first, we rejoiced and did not think much. However, as we prepare for the greatest opening, difficult tasks are ahead of us.
As Psalm 126 continues,
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that go forth and weep, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Not because it is sorrowful, but because so much work is waiting to be done immediately after opening.
North Korea is in devastated condition and everyone is hurt and hungry. The government cannot provide love that they don’t have and cannot heal the wounds of the broken hearted. We ought to go into North Korea with open arms to embrace them in love and peace. It is easy to say, but the reality will take much tears and weeping with them to rebuild His church in that land.
